So, I am in the midst of planning a purple doublet gown. The purple also manages to go smashingly with the green velvet of the Slytherin Gown.
This is going to be a doublet and an over skirt. I will have the black/silver forepart from the Slyth Gown to wear with this as well as be able to wear the doublet with the sleeves and/or skirt from the Slyth gown as well.
The purple ends up looking more blue-ish when I photograph it, but it really is purple:
The bit of black is going to be for guards on the purple skirt and the green there is my Slyth Gown skirt.

To quote Granny Weatherwax: I ain't dead
Truly.
Nothing great or exciting to report as of late - other than other websites sucking my life away. I am pretty consistant on LiveJournal and now have joined FaceBook. I tend to be in those two spots most often. FaceBook even has D&D Tiny Adventures you can play. I like that. :)
Anyway - garb plots have begun for next year. I got some lovely purple dupioni for my birthday. That's going to grow up to be a doublet and an overskirt. I also bought an old purple suede coat from Salvation Army that I am going to make into a flat cap.
See, this is what happenes when you toss on a purple hat at faire one day and both your friends chime in with an "OMG!! You look stunning in purple!!! You should really do a purple gown!!!"
Other than that bit of new fabric, I am vowing to use up what is in my current stash. This means I could end up with three new gowns (the purple one and a German gown, an Italian and one kirtle.) That kirtle may also end up being a gown too - we will have to see. I think that'good enough for one year.
First off, here is a few shots of me actually wearing the Green Slytheryn gown. I made my kiddo take them before I left for faire.
HG opted to stay home so she could play with her new computer, so I met up with a few friends from work and hit the faire. Shannon had never been before so it was fun showing her around. Larissa had been there a few times before, but it was fun to wander with her as well.
Had to say good bye to my buddy David too. Yeah - I know I will see him again and I can talk to him online, but still - he's not going to be at faire everyday anymore. It will be better for him though.
Well, last day of faire today. An extra weekend was added to the run of MIRF. Some say it was to make up for the Weekend of Sog (tm) some say it was done for the film crew. Some love the idea of the extra weekend, some lothe it.
I get to play dress up again, so it's all good for me.
As usual, no photos of me and the various garb stuff. I really need to just remember to ask folks to snap a photo of me. As usual, Tracy and I will say we are going to do a day of just garb photos, but that never seems to come to pass either.
